Save The Human! Don’t Eat the Planet! Is a creative campaign launched under the umbrella of ABLE Charity HK to raise awareness about what has become the number one cause of pollution in the world today and that is the consumption of meat & dairy!!
The campaign was successfully launched on the 1st of March 2009 and is still in its infancy but has already achieved good attention from the wider community thanks to the music video with the same name that is circulating on youtube.
The campaign is focused on raising awareness by informing the public about the hidden facts and dangers threatening our Planet in relation to the world’s seemingly insatiable demand for copious amounts of meat, fish & dairy.
The world’s consumption is increasing as China and Asia are eating more meat & dairy today!
According to the UNFAO and various professors and researchers from around the world, numerous studies have been made, livestock production is the number one cause of global warming today and responsible for at least 18% of all GHG pumped out annually!! That is approximately 4 to 5 % more than all the global transport combined!! The list of facts goes on and on in the most alarming fashion, yet this remains unbeknown to most educated people worldwide and is rarely mentioned in green and environmental circles.
It is due to these facts that we decided to launch this campaign from HK with the aim of going global. As we are an awareness and educational focused campaign we need funding to be able to reach the maximum amount of people. Billboards, advertising and traditional media outlets are most expensive in HK and for this our Charity seeks funding from the community. We believe that our conscious and creative adds will touch people deeply (please see our videos) and will empower the public to act immediately through nothing but their consciousness and wisdom.
We are not a conventional campaign that seeks to feed the poor or working to help children, and as such we fall on the fringes of what is traditionally accepted as the norm here in HK. Therefore we need to be most creative in raising our funds through parties, concerts and other happenings just like our launch party on March the 1st 2009.
We would most appreciate any help in this area.
The short term vision of the campaign is to tour HK schools with a power point and video presentation to inspire the young kids to be the change in the world. We also hope to make several more inspirational and fun videos to release on the internet through mediums like facebook etc…
Another medium we are using is Eco-fashion to spread the message, through the design of organic T Shirts and other accessories that will appeal to young people.
Our long term vision is to develop the campaign into a global movement. Until such time we remain active and passionate.
